TiE Boston Communications Summer Intern 

 

Role Overview: This role is a part-time, virtual summer internship position, up to 20 hours a week, with the number of hours negotiable based on candidate.

Description:

TiE Boston was founded in 1997 by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals of Indian origin, in order to foster future innovators. Today we support entrepreneurs of all backgrounds and we are uniquely positioned to champion inclusion in the innovation ecosystem, and welcome innovators and enthusiasts from all backgrounds.

As a TiE Boston Communications Intern, you will help to further grow the organization’s brand through social media and email marketing content, while also maintaining and updating relevant member information.  By supporting these communication efforts, this role will gain access to the ins and outs of an organization working to support the growth of startups, information and innovation through our network. 

This opportunity connects you with the TiE Boston network and close access to the top startups in Massachusetts, community leaders, venture capitalists and serial entrepreneurs. You will learn more than you can imagine in this role, so we are looking for someone who is excited to learn and grow as an individual and professional.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Social Media: 

    • Assist in developing content and regularly posting on social platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram

    • Brand management for TiE Boston on social media platforms

    • Growing meaningful follower base

  • Email Marketing:

    • Updating Mailchimp to match TiE Boston branding

    • Developing templates for various email marketing campaigns

    • Email marketing reports of detailing opens and engagement 

  • Member Information Management via Hubspot

    • Updating member information from previous records

    • Adding previous events and member attendance 

    • Running reports on member information

Qualifications: 

  • Preference to current or recent undergraduate students

  • Professional Skills: strong in writing, interpersonal skills, time management, ability to work independently and with a team. 

  • Personal Skills: responsible, willingness to contribute ideas, proactive, adaptable. 

  • Previous experience in managing social media for an organization desired

  • Familiarity with Mailchimp, Canva and Hubspot is a plus, but not required.

VOLUNTEER 

Our mission is carried through the volunteer efforts of our community members. As a volunteer you would help with event support and management such as coordinating speakers and panelists, registration, event setup & breakdown, sponsor stewardship and more. 

 

Volunteering comes with the following benefits:

  • Free admission to TiE events you have selected to support
